To become an air traffic controller in the United States, there are several hurdles to get through before you even begin training. Traditionally, training to become an air traffic controller has been via the military, FAA Approved CTI colleges for a two- or four-year degree in air traffic control or be one of the lucky few that get hired by the FAA without previous experience or training in air traffic control.
Enter the ATCFO approach and you can train to become an air traffic controller at the Trade School level. Our partners at Polk County School Board and Traviss Technical College have created a State of Florida Department of Education accredited Control Tower Operator course located in Bartow, Florida. While we love our military, not everyone has the capability to join the military. Obtaining a college degree can be very expensive and time consuming. Air Traffic control does NOT require a college degree; therefore, we have brought an air traffic control training program to the Trade School level. We are the very first of its kind in the United States.
